Our Story

SPRODETA Agribusiness Limited was established in 2021 as a bold initiative by the Small Producers Development and Transporters Association (SPRODETA), a Malawian NGO dedicated to improving the livelihoods of rural communities.

Our journey began with a simple but powerful vision: to transform smallholder farming into a sustainable and profitable engine for economic growth. Recognising the challenges faced by rural farmers, limited market access, low productivity, and minimal value addition, we set out to bridge the gap between production and markets.

Today, we work closely with farmer cooperatives across Mzimba and Rumphi districts, sourcing both livestock and crop products including poultry, goats, maize, soybeans, beans, and groundnuts. These products are processed, packaged, and distributed through our agribusiness center in Enc’ongoleni, creating a reliable pathway from farm to market.

At the heart of our model is empowerment. We support smallholder farmers with access to markets, capacity building, and sustainable farming practices, ensuring they benefit directly from agricultural value chains.

As we grow, our ambition is to become a leading agribusiness in Malawi, driving food security, creating jobs, and contributing to inclusive economic development. For us, agribusiness is not just about profit; it is about transforming lives and building resilient communities.
